Dr. Luca Casetti was born in Bolzano in 1970. He qualified in Medicine (MD degree) in 1997 at the University of Verona, and received his certification in General Surgery in 2002 from the same University. In 2006 he attained a Ph.D degree in Surgical Sciences at the University of Verona. 

He worked as an attending surgeon at the Schio General Hospital, and moved back to the Verona Pancreas Surgery Unit in 2012. He is mainly interested in minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Casetti’s caseload exceeds 1500 procedures, he performed more than 150 pancreatic resections. He attended the course of laparoscopic surgery at the European School of Laparoscopy (Bruxelles), and a University master course in laparoscopic surgery at the University of Turin.

He authored 11 papers in peer-reviewed journals and 5 book chapters. He was awarded the AISP prize in 2002.
